Scope of Services

QuietMind provides outpatient telepsychiatry consultations, clinical self-assessment tools, and educational resources for adults aged 18 and above. All consultations are conducted by a licensed psychiatrist in accordance with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020, MCI/NMC, Government of India.

QuietMind operates exclusively within the scope of outpatient psychiatric care. The following are outside our clinical scope and will not be provided under any circumstances:

  • Emergency psychiatric care or crisis intervention
  • Inpatient or residential psychiatric treatment
  • Forensic psychiatry
  • Immediate response services

If you are experiencing thoughts of self-harm, harm to others, or are in immediate danger, contact emergency services (112) or iCall (9152987821) immediately. QuietMind cannot and does not provide emergency assistance.

No Guarantee of Clinical Outcomes

Mental health treatment outcomes vary significantly between individuals and are influenced by factors beyond our clinical control.

QuietMind does not guarantee:

  • Specific results or symptom resolution
  • Cure or permanent remission of any condition
  • A defined timeline for improvement

All treatment plans and clinical recommendations are based on the information available at the time of assessment. Changes in your condition, circumstances, or undisclosed history may affect outcomes for which QuietMind bears no responsibility.

No Replacement for In-Person Care When Required

Online psychiatric consultations may not be suitable for all conditions.

QuietMind may recommend:

  • in-person evaluation
  • referral to another healthcare provider
  • discontinuation of services if clinically appropriate

Self-Assessments, Guides, and Resources

All self-assessment tools, worksheets, guides, and educational materials provided by QuietMind are for informational and pattern-awareness purposes only. They are not:

  • Diagnostic instruments
  • Substitutes for a professional psychiatric evaluation
  • Bases for self-diagnosis or self-medication

Results from self-assessments indicate patterns that may warrant professional attention. They do not constitute a clinical diagnosis. No clinical or therapeutic relationship is formed through use of these tools alone.

Telemedicine Limitations

Online psychiatric consultations are clinically effective for a defined range of presentations. However:

  • Telemedicine may not be appropriate for all conditions
  • Physical examination, where clinically necessary, cannot be conducted remotely
  • Technical limitations including poor connectivity, audio/video quality, or platform disruption may affect consultation quality

QuietMind reserves the right to recommend in-person evaluation, referral to another provider, or discontinuation of services where clinically appropriate.

Medication

Psychiatric medication may be prescribed at the sole clinical discretion of the treating psychiatrist where it is judged to meaningfully improve functioning. Medication is not prescribed as a default.

Where medication is prescribed:

  • It is based on clinical judgment applied to the information you have provided
  • All medication carries potential side effects, which will be explained at the time of prescription
  • You are required to follow prescribed instructions and report adverse effects promptly

You are solely responsible for:

  • Disclosing your complete medical history, including all current medications, supplements, allergies, and pre-existing conditions
  • Informing the treating psychiatrist of any changes in your condition or medication
  • Complying with follow-up requirements where clinically indicated

QuietMind and its clinical staff bear no responsibility for adverse outcomes arising from incomplete disclosure of medical history or non-compliance with prescribed treatment.

Certain psychiatric medications are classified as Schedule H or Schedule H1 drugs under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and are dispensed only on valid prescription. QuietMind prescribes in compliance with applicable Indian pharmaceutical regulations.
